Tree Hut Village Guarantee

We will cover you for up to $500 should anything go wrong and the borrower can't reimburse you (e.g. the items get stolen or damaged). Terms and Conditions apply.

Privacy & Safety

Your details will only be revealed once a booking is approved. All users are verified through email, social media, bank details and, upon reaching a certain threshold, government issued photo ID.

Please contact TreeHutVillage for access to the Insurance Policy Schedule and/or Policy Wording for information as to the specific coverage, terms, conditions and exclusions afforded by the Insurer in the event of an incident, occurrence or Claim. Please also note that each claim is subject to an Excess payable by the TreeHutVillage User - full details of the Policy, its coverage and exclusions including the applicable excess details are available on request

You're in Control

As the lender, you:

  • decide when to approve a booking
  • can list all your items for free
  • can approve who rents your item
  • decide how long a listing is active
  • decide where to meet the borrower
  • can set a bond for the listing
  • can inspect the item before releasing the bond back to the borrower

As the borrower, you:

  • can choose the equipment you want
  • can complete the whole transaction online and on the go
  • can review lenders before committing to rent
  • Tree Hut Village will assist with finding a replacement if the lender doesn't show
  • you can inspect the item before the booking starts

Travel insurance cover to protect you and your family including cancellation and cover whilst travelling domestically or overseas. Cover includes individual items hired via Tree Hut Village up to $1500 per item as well as your own personal effects.

What is covered already by Tree Hut Village?

The insurance, underwritten by Ansvar, covers every user of Tree Hut Village against product and public liability up to $20 million. Specifically that means if you lend an item on Tree Hut Village and during the hire period the item injures a person, or does damage to 3rd party property, then you are covered subject to our Terms and Conditions. The excess is payable by you in the event of a claim and is $1,000. Should any of the above occur, please contact us immediately on insurance@treehutvillage.com.au.

The guarantee covers you for incidental damage to your item that is not covered by your bond. Should the borrower not be in a position to compensate your for the loss or repair of your equipment, Tree Hut Village will arrange for the equipment to be reinstated to the original condition or will arrange shipment of replacement parts up to the value of $500. This excludes any cleaning that may be required. Please contact us at insurance@treehutvillage.com.au immediately if you feel that the bond won't cover the damage to your equipment.
